Thanks, Mimi!

Thanks Mimi for the Zoo set! I am really having fun with it and the Easter presents (though I won't lay still for a photo).

It was great to see you 2 weekends in a row! Hopefully I'll see you again soon!

Quick updates

ok...so here's a quick update on what has been happening to the Carrs...

Patrick seems to enjoy his job and leaves on Monday (Oct. 13th) for training in Dallas, Texas. He will be back on November 29th.

Alex has been napping fairly regularly and is kinda a happy boy. This past weekend, he had another ear infection (snotty nose, ear drainage, fever....fun fun fun) but has Medicine from Dr. Farkas in Fairfield.

As for me.... "Becky Homemaker" (as my father eloquently put.../sigh), I have done a lot of running around. Monday, I had a job interview at F&M college in Lancaster. I will hear next week the outcome of that event... The rest of the week has been laundry, going to the doctors, grocery/sam's club shopping, checking insurances, and helping out Mom at the Market. It all has been very busy and I am starting to wonder if life will ever slow down...

Upcoming, this Saturday, Pat, Alex and I are headed out to Aston (the last time as a family) to finish packing up the apartment. We have scheduled a UHual and arranged for Mimi to watch Alex. Then we have to store all that stuff somewhere between Abuelos', Magnee & Pap's, and Mammaw's house.

Sunday, we have a birthday picnic for my grandfather and Pat and I will be heading down to BWI to stay over night.

Monday, Pat has a 8:55am flight from BWI to DFW and Magnee is having in-patient hernia surgery at Gettysburg Hospital.

Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, Alex and I will be at the Fairfield airport to offer lunch meals to the Glider's Club.

And Saturday afternoon, Alex and I will be headed to Cumberland, MD for Will Patterson's 3rd Birthday party.

Plus we will need to clean out the apartment before October 31st or be charged ridiculous rates.

Soo....it looks to be busy..

Happy Birthday, Mimi

Mimi's actual birthday is June 27th but since Alex and I going to be away, we celebrated a day early! On Thursday, Pat, Alex, and I went to Mimi's to make chicken and saffron rice and celebrate. The dinner was fun, Pat helped Mimi set up her new TV, and then we were off to the pool. It was a nice evening!

Slacking

I realized today that Sunday, I started to update this site but never finished..oppps!

So Saturday, Pat, Alex, and I visited the zoo. We went early and enjoyed having the zoo to ourselves (to some extent). Alex's favorite animal that day was the Peacock. There was one near the Penn house and Alex enjoyed talking to it. I don't know if it was due to Alex's chatter, but the bird would call to Alex and then opened up his feathers (check out the web album!). After the peacock and the polar bears, of course, we went to the children's area. There Alex took his first pony ride. He looked miserable riding but wanted back on as soon as he got off. Luckily it was cleaning time with the goat and Alex got to brush the goats. After a lot of hand washing, we had a small picnic near the pond. Alex did really well eating with all the distractions and then started to feed the geese his pretzels. On our way out of the park, we stopped in the small mammal area and saw a 2 toed sloth and then watched the tortoise labor around their area. Thankfully Alex was exhausted and fell asleep on the ride home
After Alex's nap, he and I visited Mimi and went to the pool while Pat studied. Alex loved the water and enjoyed showing Mimi how to play Humpty Dumpty. I believe a good time was had by all :) That nite, Alex went to slepe very easily!

Sunday... Alex and I were exhausted. Pat and Alex went to Mimi's to clean up stuff from her basement (5 year old stuff) and then we all just relaxed.

Happy Birthday, Patboy!

33 years old :) Sunday we had a wonderful evening at Mimi's. Then today, he and I went to lunch at Applebee's and then this evening Pat and Alex opened presents. With the new xbox 360, Pat received more games (rock band and Rainbow 6 Las vegas 2). Both boys love Rock Band and the sleeping picture was just too good to pass up :)

Thank you, Mimi

Today Mimi helped us out of a real jam... Last Thursday, Tara informed us that she would be closed today. This is horrible because today Pat had 1 of 2 finals and I had an in-service day. Thankfully, Mimi was able to take the day off work and watched Alex.

As soon as Alex walked in the door, he showed me his 'copter hand stamp and immediately began to tell me how he and Mimi drove 'copters. He excitedly told me about the medivac "tunnel" and sirens and planes and everything about 'copters. Alex had a great time!

Thanks, Mimi!
