January to date...

New Year's Eve was BUSY! We started off fairly quiet in the morning and then Becky W. and Jessie D. joined us for lunch. It was a great time to chat and just hang out. Alex did really well and even sat at the table with us and ate. However, around 2ish (before nap time), Alex used his potty by himself but did not put his pants back on. He did don his fireman hat and ran around the kitchen screaming FIRE, FIRE, FIRE. This really impressed Jessie; especially, when he hid under the table as I came at him with his pants. Thankfully, I was able to get him dressed and Abuela came home to put him down for a nap.

Then, in the evening, we went to Uncle Steve and Aunt Laurie's house and then the Mosser house. Both places, Alex was accosted by dogs and at the Mosser house, climbed into a dog cage to be safe ;)

On New Year's Day, I cashed in my "family event" card for the month and we all went to Magnee and Pap's to watch the Rose Bowl. The outcome wasn't what we wanted but the food was good and the company well....wasn't too happy :)

After that...it has been a quiet and relaxing weekend. However, January seems to be filling up with events :)

Carr Christmas

On Friday during the naptime, Alex, Pat and I traveled to West Chester to be with Pat's family. We arrived at Mimi's house and were greeted by Aunt Megan and Mimi. Later, Uncle Johnny and Aunt Michele and Aunt Kate joined us via the train. We had pizza and then opened presents. Alex received LOTS of firetrucks/man items and enjoyed playing with everyone. Saturday, we went to Gramps for lunch and enjoyed spending time :)

Monday

Sunday night, there were storms in Ocean City. Monday, looked like the picture to the right... there was a dense fog Monday and Wednesday. The lifeguard said it was due to the air being too hot and the water being too cold (low 60s). The fog was very thick from out 22nd story window. You could not see the beach (and we were oceanfront) and walking on the ground, fog with seep out between the buildings. Alex called it "spooky".

So to get Alex out, we went to the pier. There he rode many rides (fire truck, airplane, car, and a mini roller coaster, the Catepillar), but his favorite was the fire truck which he rode twice.

Fireman Kyle

How do you become a 2 year old's hero? Besides being a cartoon with a catchy song... you give him a tour of a firehouse!

Kyle was a great sport and showed Alex the Fairfield firehouse. Kyle graciously allowed Alex to "drive" the fire ENGINE (the one with hoses), fire TRUCK (with ladders), and ambulance. Kyle also showed Alex lots of hoses, ladders, hammers, extinguers, flashlights, hats, boots, poles, and TONS of medical equipment. Alex had Kyle open every door and explore every nook and cranny of the emergency vechiles. Alex LOVED talking to Fireman Kyle and leading him by the hand to explore new areas. Kyle was a great sport. At the end, he allowed Alex to close the doors and sent him off him toots of the horn that made Alex jump! :)
