Wednesday

Wednesday, we went back down to the beach in the morning but it was loosing its appeal with Alex. He had a short attention span for all activities and when we tried to lay down for a nap, he fought it tooth and nail. Hence my sleeping son picture above.

That evening, after dinner, we all headed to the OC community center and played at the park. Alex went EVERYWHERE and played on all the equipment. My highlight was seeing Alex climb a HUGE tower and go down an enclosed slide. He was very proud of himself and kept going back :)

Monday

Sunday night, there were storms in Ocean City. Monday, looked like the picture to the right... there was a dense fog Monday and Wednesday. The lifeguard said it was due to the air being too hot and the water being too cold (low 60s). The fog was very thick from out 22nd story window. You could not see the beach (and we were oceanfront) and walking on the ground, fog with seep out between the buildings. Alex called it "spooky".

So to get Alex out, we went to the pier. There he rode many rides (fire truck, airplane, car, and a mini roller coaster, the Catepillar), but his favorite was the fire truck which he rode twice.

Sunday

Our first day on the beach was Sunday. The beach was not crowded and we were able to spread out around 8am. At the beach, we (abuela, abuelo, alex and I) dug in the sand, played in the water, took walks, watched dolphins, and many other fun tasks :)

Hearts

To get Alex ready for Valentine's Day (and to keep his little hands busy). I cut out paper hearts and he taped them to the window. He seemed quite indecisive and kept trying to take the hearts off the window to place them in other areas. No idea where he gets that from... :-D

Other than that, I did update the web album with new Februrary pictures.

Ladies Man

Saturday was very busy for Alex. He got to see most of his immediate family!

Saturday morning it was the Carrs. Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts, he did not get a nap but did get a great pirate boat from Gramps (which he loves!). So he was a bit cranky.

In the afternoon, Abuelos saved us from too cranky Alex. We went for a walk and Alex met a playmate, Jada. Jada was a little 15m girl who had a great time with Alex. They both liked to run, hug, kiss and generally follow each other around. It was adorable! In the picture, they were playing peek-a-boo.

Funny things from today

With Alex's new habit of waking up at night, Pat would often bring him in our bed for a bit. However, it has gotten to the point where Alex would climb out of his crib and then crawl into our bed. Well, this morning, around 12am, Alex climbed into bed. Not unusual, he hunkered down on my pillow and fell asleep. A little while later, he kicked Pat in the groin and grabbed Pat's covers. This got him promptly put back into his own bed. Then again at 2am, he crawled back in. He again slept on my pillow 'til 4am when I put him back to bed in fear of the alarm scaring him. At 6am, Alex comes running into the bedroom screaming "pillow". Here he was dragging his own pillow into our bed.

This afternoon, after I picked him up from Tara's, Alex and I went to the park while Pat took his Dad come from the hospital. There Alex enjoyed climbing the "stairs" by himself and then going down the slide. Then he tried the swings and then spend 30 minutes playing in the baseball dug outs.

Finally this afternoon, Pat converted Alex's crib to a Toddler bed. Alex LOVES his bed. Tonight he wanted to be read to in his bed and then did not once try to get out of it. It is amazing!

Oh! There is a new web album to view at the bottom ;)

Time at Fairfield

This weekend has been busy!

After arriving safely on Friday nite, Saturday morning we visited Mammaw and I got my grading done. Then in the afternoon, we ran some errands and went to Erin Overholtzer-Rose's wedding reception. Alex had a blast! There were bubbles, kids to play with and dancing. Shannon Long also had her daughter there, Olivia (3 weeks). Alex was VERY jealous when I help Olivia. But kept trying to feed her his supper. He was a very busy boy!

On Sunday, Alex had an active morning of chasing Copper and then getting his picture taken with the family. After being VERY good, he got to jump in the pool with the Abuelos. Later that evening, we helped celebrate Uncle Steve's 50th Birthday. Alex got to see a lot of family and meet the newest member, Dawson Mickey (1 week old).

Monday and Tuesday were a bit calmer. Alex got to see visit Abuela's friend Sarah and Magnee, chase Copper, play in the pool and Carroll Valley Park, and eat LOTS of peaches.

As soon as Temple's Server is up, the website should be updated with the new pictures :)

Update

Since the last entry, Alex has been one busy boy. Since Tara has been on vacation that busyness has been with me... :)

After a Doctor's appt. Alex is the the 75% percentile for weight and head size and 50% for height. He also got 2 shots.

We also had the pleasure of an Abuelos' visit. Alex was fairly good for his grandparents :)

Since then, we have been shopping, to the library, the parks and Linvilla. Pictures will no doubt ensue...

New Activities that Alex likes to do:
1. Splash in puddles
2. Point and watch for airplanes
3. Climb on the bed and into the highchair
4. Lead mommy and daddy around by the finger
5. Hugs and kisses
6. Walk inbetween legs

New Words:
1. Ouch
2. Apple (every fruit is apple)
3. Hat
4. Alright (I think I heard this)
