Saturday
Saturday, August 2nd, was move out day. We loaded up the cars, said goodbyes and thanks to Abuelos, and were on the road by 9:30am. It was a dark morning with rain and sad faces. The car ride home was close to 3 hours and we are all a little cranky. The good pictures were updated in the web album. Now we start the new stage....Post-Law School...

Update
Sunday, July 20th, Alex and I traveled to Fairfield to sign paperwork and allow Pat time to study for the Bar. That evening, Abuelos had a church softball picnic. Alex had a blast running around, swimming, and playing in the rain. In the pool, Alex swam by himself and played with Logan a 6 year old boy. At the end of the picnic, there was a storm and both boys ran in circles very excited about the rain.
Monday, July 21st, Abuela watched Alex and I went to Hagerstown to sign paperwork. While there I was hit with surprise blows. 1, I would need to come in Wednesday to sign additional paperwork. 2, I was required to attend a New Teacher Academy Aug. 4-7th and 12-13th. 3, All teachers start on August 14th and students start on August 20th. Pat also contacted the landlord and found out that they will not let us out of the lease. So we will be payign this rent until October. Thankfully, Abuelos agreed to house us!
Tuesday, July 22nd, we visited Mammaw in the morning (see previous blog) and in the evening, we visited Magnee and Pap. At Magnee and Pap's, Alex got his first experience of Noggin' and Max and Ruby, explored Magnee's garden, played with weed wacker, snow blower, and lawn mower, and dug with 2 shovels.
Wednesday, July 23rd, Abuela watched Alex again as I sat through 2 hours of benefit information in Hagerstown. That evening, we all went to the Fairfield Firehouse.
Thursday, July 24th, we said goodbye to Abuelos and Mammaw and got boxes from El Vista. Alex and I visited a daycare, Children's 1st Academy, in Boonsboro that has an opening for Alex. Afterwards, Alex and I drove around Baltimore to home. Alex refused to sleep and had a few tantrum on the way... but we finally got home after 2.5 hours. Once we got home, Pat and I unloaded and started changing addresses on credit cards, cars, bank, investments, and every other bill. Are we forgetting anything?
Overall, a very busy time for the Carrs!

An Angel?!?!
So after a rough evening with Alex, I downloaded the pictures and thought pic was interesting after his behavior. I am hoping as a long as I look at the innocent face, I will forget about the screaming toddle kicking the floor.
Also, the web album was updated with new pictures. Be sure to check it out.

Sleeping boys
After 1 snooze, I climbed outta bed and started getting ready for work. When I came back to get dressed my boys were snuggled together fast asleep (must be nice!). It wasn't until the flash went off that the older boy awoke and started getting ready for school. Alex slept until 6:45am.

Funny things from today
This afternoon, after I picked him up from Tara's, Alex and I went to the park while Pat took his Dad come from the hospital. There Alex enjoyed climbing the "stairs" by himself and then going down the slide. Then he tried the swings and then spend 30 minutes playing in the baseball dug outs.
Finally this afternoon, Pat converted Alex's crib to a Toddler bed. Alex LOVES his bed. Tonight he wanted to be read to in his bed and then did not once try to get out of it. It is amazing!
Oh! There is a new web album to view at the bottom ;)

Technology...isn't it fun?
Ok...there's no audio (and please ignore my pj look) but I will work on that. Last night Pat and I were cleaning out the computer area and he found the webcam. So I decided to hook it up and put it to good use. However, I cannot get the microphone to work. Until it works... give us a call to hear the voice behind the movement :-)
Another new technology, I decided to stop updating Alex's Webpage on the Temple Server. So my new plan is to use Picasa's Web Album. At the bottom of the page, you will see a link to some Christmas pictures. Since someone voted for pictures (can't imagine who that was... Abuelo!), I won't stop putting them on the web but will move them to a different location. I hope it is not too much of a bother! A neat thing about Picasa's Web Album is that you can view all the pictures as a slideshow. You'll have to let me know if you like it :)
