Polls
Ok...so we need some help. Alex's 2nd birthday is on a Tuesday...which will make it difficult to celebrate on the actual day. On the left, I have added a poll for some advice. We are going to go with a Curious George theme but not sure on the day.

Adjusting
Today, Alex did fairly well getting back on schedule. The only true confusion with this past weekend was him coming into the bedroom at 6am and YELLING..."Abuela! Abuelo!" right next to me. After he established who was in bed, he quickly crawled in and made himself at home

No pictures... but...
a quick update. Since February 13th, I have noticed 2 2 year molars in Alex's mouth. The top right and bottom left (how weird!).
Alex's vocabulary has been exponentially growing. He is a little parrot with a memory like a steel trap. For instance... he caught me saying "shit" when I dropped the phone behind the desk and said it back twice with match ferocity. I am a bad mother....sigh
His other "great" new interests are cleaning and mixing. Everytime I step into the kitchen, Alex demands that we mix something. Plus everytime something spills on the ground, he demands we get the vacuum. (However, he has learned that I will not get the vacuum for 2 Cherrios!). He has even taken to making messes, just to demand the vacuum. His goal is to make his great Magnee proud.

A forward
My cousin, Karen, passed the following along through the email and I thought it was worth archiving. Enjoy!!!
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean livin''
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I am admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Sleeping boys
On Monday morning, my icky alarm went off at 5:45am. I heard an unusual grunt next to me and realized that Alex was still in bed with us from 4am.
After 1 snooze, I climbed outta bed and started getting ready for work. When I came back to get dressed my boys were snuggled together fast asleep (must be nice!). It wasn't until the flash went off that the older boy awoke and started getting ready for school. Alex slept until 6:45am.

Also...more pictures were added to the February 08 Web Album. Leave me a few comments and let me know what you think!

Bad...
Today before Alex fell asleep for his nap, he joined me watching Superman: Doomsday. At the end when Superman was fighting the bad guy, Alex pointed directly to Superman and said "bad" "hit" "bad".
It really made me think. Who did I want my son to watch...a huge guy with powers that he uses to hurt people or a monkey that explores math and science or vegetables that teach moral lessons. hmmm...

Espanol
Tonight Alex said and understood a new Spanish word: ojos (eyes). We were reading a book and as he said the English, I would say the Spanish. He pointed to his eyes and said "ojos" and I asked "donde estan los ojos de Mommy? (where are Mommy's eyes?)". He then pointed/touched my eyes and said "ojos". A proud and delightful moment :)
(side note...his other Spanish words are: Abuela, Abuelo, and Sube (Go up!))

Hearts
To get Alex ready for Valentine's Day (and to keep his little hands busy). I cut out paper hearts and he taped them to the window. He seemed quite indecisive and kept trying to take the hearts off the window to place them in other areas. No idea where he gets that from... :-D
Other than that, I did update the web album with new Februrary pictures.

Weekend
This weekend, Alex did not take a nap on Saturday and stayed awake to play with Abuelos. He was a "little" chatty and bossy. Telling Abuelos to "sit, sit", "fix it" and other fun things :) Everyone seemed to have fun and he thankfully slept fairly well.
Sunday, Pat and his Dad got fitted for John's wedding. Unfortunately, today, Michele's father died of a hear attack. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.
