Fausnaut

For donut day, Magnee, Abuela, Alex and I made donuts. Alex was on a sugar high until his nap and Magnee and Abuela fought over the color of the bread balls.... A great family experience :)

VA Weekend

This weekend, as a Valentine's Day present, Abuelos watched Alex while Pat and I went down to visit VA.

Friday afternoon we drove down to Chantilly, VA and I had a phone interview. On a positive note, I was sent a Writing Sample for the 2nd round and will hear by mid-week.

Saturday, we went exploring. Pat showed me where he worked in Fairfax and then we explored the cheaper Woodbridge area of DC. This led to a lot of discussion of what sort of life/home we wanted to provide and a lot of us getting lost :) Thankfully the GPS led us back to Chantilly.

Sunday, we say goodbye to high speed Internet and look forward to seeing Alex (and Abuelos) again :) Life should be busy the next few months!

My Boys

For Valentine's Day, Pat sent Alex and I flowers, a balloon, teddy bear and candy. In addition, I had a morning free to run errands and then we packed the car for West Chester. We had a nice visit with Mimi, Megan, John, and Michele on Saturday and then everyone plus, Gramps and Kate on Sunday morning.

89 and feeling fine!

On Sunday, we went to the Convery's for a wonderful get together and dinner. We all had a wonderful time and Nana was gracious enough to allow Alex to help blow out the candles and open presents. In return, Nana gave Alex 2 hands full of M&Ms. I tried to make him share but he would give one candy and then stuff one in his mouth. On the ride home from New Jersey, Alex stayed awake well towards Reading, Pa with constant questions and singing :)

Not Windsday...

but Thursday, the New England States were socked with HIGH winds (60mph). So....trying to get out again and ready for a good nap, I dressed Alex up nice and warm and we took a kite outside. He really enjoyed chasing it but the winds were not steady and the trees too close to really fly a kite. After 10 minutes, Alex wanted to go inside and then the howling wind kept Alex awake during nap time. The funny thing was....he kept talking to the wind "Wind....here I am!".

Outside

This week really proved the groundhogs wrong! With weather in the 50s, Alex and I spent a good deal of time outside playing. Alex really enjoyed getting his bike back outside, chasing bubbles (he really doesn't blow but spit), drawing with chalk, and going for walks. This nice weather has also led to GREAT nap times :)
