On Wednesday night, we had our first dusting at the house. I took Alex outside and he instantly began eating the snow off the car (ick!). Once I convinced/threatened him to stop, we built our first snowman :)

Potty Seat
On our last library run, Alex and I got a potty book about Michael and how he uses the potty. So yesterday, I wrapped up his potty seat and prayed that this would help potty training (which fell back with all the changes). Alex was VERY excited to have a potty seat and instantly wanted to use it. With the use, he got a sticker and a piece of candy corn. The rest of the day, he was bottomless and did really well. Overall on Wednesday, he got A LOT of stickers and even got a pumpkin candy for using the potty to go poop.
Thursday...was not fun. Today, I thought we might move to the next step and just let him run around in pants without a trainer or diaper. We went through 6 pairs of PJ pants, 2 clean ups on the time out chair, 1 floor cleanup, and 1 washing of sheets on my bed.
The best story, we were in the basement and Alex was in the corner playing with some ducks he found. All of sudden, Alex screams "Mommy, poop in pants!" He runs over to me shaking his one leg. I get him upstairs and surrounded by wipes. As I am cleaning him up, he is gagging and saying "icky".

Pumpkin Carving
Tonight, Alex and Abuelo carved a pumpkin. Above is a video and pictures from the event. Unfortunately, I am trying to upload it over a dial-up connection...we shall see how it goes :)
update...my first 2 attempts were failures. But because Tia wants the video up, I will try to convert it to a smaller file. If that doesn't work (sorry Tia and Pat...), I will upload it from El Vista tomorrow night.
And now the El Vista update (wow! this went smoother!)... the smaller version is below but the larger version is in youtube :)

Market Fun!
Since I have quit teaching, Alex and I have been "helping" my Mom down at the market. However, a lot of the help is trying to keep Alex occupied and cleaning up after the little monkee :) Thankfully, between Mom, Linda and I, Alex is well occupied. This cell phone picture was taken Friday with Abuela and Alex on the make shift wagon :)

What happens...
Birthday season done...
Tuesday was the last of the Fall birthdays! In the morning, Alex, Abuela and I went to Walmart to get the Vibe's oil change and do some shopping. While in Walmart, Alex found this Mustang and F10 truck to play with and demanded we visit before leaving.
That afternoon, after naps, we got ready for a wonderful dinner with Abuelos, Magnee, Pap and Mammaw.
Over all, a nice 28th Birthday :)

Wood
As the weather has gotten much cooler in Central PA, Abuelo decided to dump wood in the basement for future cold days on Sunday. Alex LOVED riding on Abuelo's lap and helping him. Afterwards, (after bragging it only took 15-20 minutes) Abuela tried to put Alex down for his nap. After 1.5 hours, Alex finally fell asleep after a lot of ABCs, Veggie Tales and undressing himself :)
Happy Birthday, Will
Happy Birthday, Abuelo
Keeping up with the birthdays... on October 16th, Abuelo celebrated his 57th Birthday. During the day, Alex and I visited Abuelo and brought him a sandwich. Then he and Alex went and picked up 3 bins. Thankfully, apple season ended the next day!
That evening, we went to Mammaw's for dinner. It was a nice evening.

Glider's Club
Alex and I have been helping out my Mom (if you can call it help...). Last week, we were taking boxed lunches and selling them to people at the Fairfield Airport. Thankfully, while there Alex had the run of the place and made a new friend. Tinily was a little girl who was 2 years old who Alex was a great sport in sharing and playing toys and food. It was also nice to be outside and around different people :)
bye bye
Happy Birthday, Pappy
Moving...Oct. 11
When we went to Aston, Alex was SUPER glad to see all his toys. He spent the morning with Mimi in West Chester while Pat and I loaded up a UHUAL truck. After several runs down 3 flights of stairs, we have decided to never be on the top floor or leave anything on the top floor. Unfortunately, we were not able to get everything packed up and another trip will be needed to pack and clean.
However, we were fortunate that most of our things fit in a neat stack in Mammaw's garage. So no stairs!

Truly Official
Pat received a letter from the PA Law Examiners and has earned the right (with $100 processing fee) to become a lawyer. His swear in date will be December 9th in Harrisburg.
Quick updates
ok...so here's a quick update on what has been happening to the Carrs...
Patrick seems to enjoy his job and leaves on Monday (Oct. 13th) for training in Dallas, Texas. He will be back on November 29th.
Alex has been napping fairly regularly and is kinda a happy boy. This past weekend, he had another ear infection (snotty nose, ear drainage, fever....fun fun fun) but has Medicine from Dr. Farkas in Fairfield.
As for me.... "Becky Homemaker" (as my father eloquently put.../sigh), I have done a lot of running around. Monday, I had a job interview at F&M college in Lancaster. I will hear next week the outcome of that event... The rest of the week has been laundry, going to the doctors, grocery/sam's club shopping, checking insurances, and helping out Mom at the Market. It all has been very busy and I am starting to wonder if life will ever slow down...
Upcoming, this Saturday, Pat, Alex and I are headed out to Aston (the last time as a family) to finish packing up the apartment. We have scheduled a UHual and arranged for Mimi to watch Alex. Then we have to store all that stuff somewhere between Abuelos', Magnee & Pap's, and Mammaw's house.
Sunday, we have a birthday picnic for my grandfather and Pat and I will be heading down to BWI to stay over night.
Monday, Pat has a 8:55am flight from BWI to DFW and Magnee is having in-patient hernia surgery at Gettysburg Hospital.
Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, Alex and I will be at the Fairfield airport to offer lunch meals to the Glider's Club.
And Saturday afternoon, Alex and I will be headed to Cumberland, MD for Will Patterson's 3rd Birthday party.
Plus we will need to clean out the apartment before October 31st or be charged ridiculous rates.
Soo....it looks to be busy..

Norah's 1st Birthday
Last weekend (October 4th), Abuela, Alex and I traveled to Cumberland, MD for Norah Patterson's 1st birthday (my cousin Angie's little girl). Alex had a BLAST playing with Will (Norah's big brother) and all his toys. Norah seemed to like her present (a talking purse) and everyone had a nice time.
The 18th we travel back to Cumberland for Will's 3rd birthday :)

Growing
Ever since Alex was a few days old, I have been trying to give an update on his growth... well... last week at the apartment, I took his last growth pictures in Aston.
As you can see he has well surpassed the duck and is definitely bigger than Rubble (the dog) and couch. This week at the doctor's (another ear infection), Alex weighted 33.5 pounds and was 3 feet tall. Everyone tells me he is a tall 2.5 year old :)
His 3 year old pictures will still have the animals but new carpetting and couch. Too crazy and lots of changes.
Little helper?
Ok...since I have been home, Alex has started to help me with chores around the house. One day while I was hanging out the laundry, I heard lots of giggles coming from the laundry room. This is what I saw when walking in..../sigh.
Apparently, my mother thought it would be funny to stick my son in the washer and pretend to get him clean (he can get a little grubby). When I brought out the stool for him to help put the dirty clothes in, I gave him all he needed to "wash" himself. Alex does keep life interesting :)
