1st Day of Jelly Beans
Fun with Puppy
The past few days have been interesting.... Zoë and Alex seem to be getting along. Though Alex tends to be a little jealous and skittish when she is in the nibble mood. However, when they are together, it is like 2 peas in a pod. On walks, Alex is the leader and Zoë is right on his heels. Alex also does a nice little "big brother" routine telling Zoë "No" and "Down" and picking her up and carrying her places. Overall, a nice fit :)

Zoë
So...the newest member has arrived. Zoë is a 7 week old Golden Retriever/Black Lab mix. She was born on July 8th, 2009. At the moment, she and Alex are playing chase me around the downstairs. Thankfully, it will tire them both out. Alex does get jealous of the fluffball but I am hoping we will find a balance soon. So now comes the fun of puppy training :)

30 doz. corn
Early this past week, we froze corn. It was a hot job that involved husking, cutting and cooking the corn. In the end, we ended up with 26 quarts of sweet corn for the winter. However, while I was husking the corn, Alex played outside. To keep him cool in the 90 degree weather, we filled up his small pool and relocated the slide. He had a great time, kept cool, and wore himself out for a nap :) A good deal!

Strausburg Railroad
Sunday started off as a rainy day in West Chester. Since we would not be going to the pool, we decided to slide over to the Strausburg Railroad. Saturday morning, Pat and Alex picked up Aunt Megan and Kate from the Septa station and Alex has been ALL about trains. It was a great opportunity. Alex had a blast the entire 45 min. trip and spent it outside the window. It was a good morning :)

Carroll Valley Night Out
Tuesday evening, Carroll Valley hosted its Night Out. Of course, the firetrucks were the big draw for Alex. But we also got a free hot dog, thanks to the FF Boys Scouts, a balloon, and CHIPed. The CHIPed information is great and will hopefully never be used!
Alex also got to play with the girl scouts and then we found a friend from HS, Kristin, and her son to play on the playground. The boys had a blast. Overall, a good evening out!

Sand Box
Cousins!
Pool Fun!
Fireman Kyle ROCKS!
We are very blessed to have wonderful and giving family members. My cousin Kyle gave Alex his old fireman helmet which he has not let go of all afternoon. Alex is having a blast running around with it!
Thanks, Kyle!
Thanks, Kyle!
Mammaw's 85th Birthday Party!
Today, Sunday, August 1st, we celebrated Mammaw's 85th Birthday 2 days early. The day started off with thunderstorms but after lots of prayer, cleared up by 11. Just in time for a wonderful 12:30pm picnic. Mammaw was fairly surprised with a nice turnout of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, inlaws, and friends.
A nice time was had by all :)
